Jesse A. Wadhams is a seasoned attorney and a Partner at Black & Wadhams, where he focuses on government relations, regulatory matters and policy development. With extensive experience representing clients before various Nevada state agencies—including the Division of Insurance, the Department of Health, the Division of Minerals, the Division of Environmental Protection, the Gaming Control Board, and the Taxation Commission—he is a trusted advisor for navigating complex administrative and licensing processes. He also represents clients across all levels of Nevada government, from city councils to the Legislature, on regulatory, licensing, and policy issues.
In his work, Mr. Wadhams excels as both a legal strategist and advocate. He has served as an expert witness for the Nevada Department of Taxation, providing valuable testimony on liquor licensing and distribution matters. As a lobbyist and political consultant, he has developed and executed legislative priorities and political strategies that help his clients achieve their goals in a highly regulated environment.
His career includes a diverse range of leadership roles, including serving as the Director of Regional Government Relations for Newmont Mining Corporation, where he developed and executed legislative policy and regulatory strategies. He also held positions in public service, including Deputy Attorney General for the Nevada Department of Justice and Technology Policy Counsel to the U.S. Senate High Tech Task Force under Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist.

In addition to his legal and policy work, Mr. Wadhams is deeply engaged in his community. He serves as the Treasurer on the Board of Commissioners for Nevada Volunteers, a position to which he was appointed by the Governor, and he has been appointed to advisory roles on the Life and Health Insurance Advisory Committee and the Property and Casualty Insurance Advisory Committee by the Nevada Commissioner of Insurance.
Outside of his professional life, Jesse is the proud parent of twin boys. He enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid outdoorsman, with a passion for hunting, camping, and fishing. A lifelong fan of the Minnesota Twins, Jesse is also an enthusiastic supporter of the team.
