Las Vegas, Nevada – July 6, 2016: Black & LoBello, is pleased to announce that preeminent transactional and restructuring attorney, Dawn Cica has joined the firm.
Dawn Cica brings more than 25 years of experience to the firm, working on all facets of transactional and real estate matters from the cradle to the grave. She is well versed in public and private financings, secured lending, note purchases, asset sales and acquisitions, leasing and joint ventures. In combination with her transactional and real estate experience, Dawn has built a renowned bankruptcy practice in the State of Nevada representing creditors, committees, affiliated parties and debtors. Dawn’s transactional experience also extends to the complex details surrounding the gaming, hospitality and mining fields. Dawn Cica, was listed as one of The Top 50 Women Mountain States Super Lawyers by Super Lawyers Magazine as well as being selected as one of Nevada Business Magazine’s Legal Elite. In 2016, Dawn also received the national M&A Advisory Award for Real Estate Deal of the year – Chapter 15 Sale of the Veris Gold Mine.
Dawn is active in the American Bankruptcy Institute, where she is on the advisory committee for the Southwest Conference as well as the Bankruptcy Battleground West Conference. Dawn is also active in the Turnaround Management Association, where she sits on the Nevada Chapter Board and is on the advisory committee for the Distressed Debt Conference. Dawn is also the past chair of the Executive Committee of the Bankruptcy Section of the Nevada Bar and she is a member of the general subcommittee of the Executive Committee of the Real Estate Section of the Nevada Bar.
Prior to joining Black & LoBello, Dawn Cica was a partner at Fox Rothschild, LLP, a national firm based in Philadelphia. She also previously served as general counsel of Mountain Spa Development, a large master planned mixed use real estate developer and the Sommer Family Trust, which purchased and redeveloped the Aladdin Hotel and Casino. Prior to that, she practiced in the bank finance and mergers and acquisitions groups in the New York and San Francisco offices of Shearman and Sterling LLP, an international law firm.
